Rachel has everything she wants except a child. She has located a poor couple who have agreed to let their next child be adopted by Rachel and her husband. Desperate for a healthy baby, Rachel pays for prenatal care and hospital expenses. When the baby possibly suffers brain damage during a difficult birth, Rachel is left with the decision of whether she wants to take the baby anyway.
